Overview
Join us for a full day wildlife boat trip from Stornoway which gives you the best chance of encountering some of the different species of whales and dolphins in the Minch as well as other wildlife such as eagles, seals, and seabirds such as puffins. Our usual destination is the Shiant Isles to the south if the conditions are favourable, but we take recent sightings into account as well as the weather and tides, so can also head in any direction if we feel the potential for the best wildlife encounters is elsewhere on the day. After meeting at our little booking office on the waterfront, we head to the boat and depart Stornoway Harbour. From here, we take MV Monadhliath out into the sheltered waters of the Minch. With our experienced crew and wildlife guide aboard, they will use their knowledge to search the local hot-spots for whale and dolphin activity. While out at sea we will be looking for all types of marine life and marvelling at the abundance of seabirds around us. Please bring your own packed lunch but we do have hot drinks and biscuits for you on board.
