Exciting news! Hjalmar Bjorge to Undergo Cabin Refurbishment in 2026

Exciting News!!

We are excited to share some important updates about our faithful and much-loved micro-ship, Hjalmar Bjorge. Beginning in 2026, we will embark on a planned interior refurbishment and reconfiguration of the guest cabins. Please be assured that all scheduled sailings will go ahead as planned, and this work will not affect any of our 2026 cruises.

When we bought Hjalmar Bjorge from Mark in 2022, we were all perfectly happy to share facilities, climb into top bunks, and enjoy the ship exactly as she was. But times change, and after careful consideration – and with valuable feedback from many of you – we recognise the need to keep pace with modern expectations.

As part of this refurbishment, we will be reconfiguring the bunks so that the awkward climb to the upper bunk is removed, and adding ensuites or private facilities to some cabins to help reduce queues and make life on board more comfortable for everyone. The exact layout is still being planned, but we will announce significant changes as we go along, as many of you will be intrigued and curious.

We feel strongly that we owe it to our loyal returning guests, as well as to those sailing with us for the first time, to invest in Hjalmar Bjorge and continue enhancing your experience.

We are deeply grateful for the support so many of you have shown us over the years and hope that many of you will continue to support us during this refit. We have been welcoming many of you aboard Hjalmar Bjorge for as long ago as 17 years – some annually, and some more than once in a single season. A heartfelt thank you, and we look forward to seeing you aboard in 2026 and beyond.
