Relief Skipper (Stornoway & Mallaig)

Salary: Details upon application

Hebridean Adventures Ltd is a wildlife-watching tour company based out of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, offering occasional day trips but predominately multi-night expeditions on the MV Monadhliath, a specially converted fishing vessel with 2 purpose-built viewing decks.

The majority of nights on cruise will be at anchor, weather permitting.

Tendering passengers ashore at remote locations is also a regular feature of our cruises.

MV Monadhliath is 20 metres in length, with a traditional Scottish MFV construction of Larch on Oak, and a single screw driven by a 380HP Volvo Penta diesel engine. There are five passenger cabins, usually accommodating 8 passengers on 3-to-6-night cruises ranging from the Outer Hebrides and the West coast of Scotland reaching as far out as St. Kilda and south to Skye and the Small Isles.

Crew accommodation is separate from the passengers, with 2 crew cabins aft and a Skippers cabin aft of the wheelhouse. The crew consists of a wildlife guide and chef, both of whom also act as deckhands and undertake other general crewing duties.

Day trips allow for a maximum of 12 passengers.

Monadhliath is coded with MECAL, Cat 2 (60 miles).
