“From the lone shieling of the misty island Mountains divide us, and the waste of seas – Yet still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland, And we in dreams behold the Hebrides!”

— "Canadian Boat Song", author unknown.

Pandemic or ‘naw’, Scotland’s magic will always be waiting for us. But, of course, we know wildlife touring is going to look a little bit different in the future… Let us help you navigate your next voyage.

Whether it’s the 2021 or 2022 season you’re dreaming about, make sure you climb aboard the MV Monadhliath. Our specially converted former fishing boat is the best way to explore Scotland’s waters and catch a sight of Scotland’s most iconic wildlife, including: whales, dolphins, golden eagles and so much more. Check out some of our very popular wildlife watching cruises here.

Our top observation deck features racer-style 'bucket seats' to keep you comfortable. There are cushions too! :-)

Take advantage of our two bespoke viewing platforms — that’s right, two! — as you relish Scotland’s breathtaking scenery. And that’s not the only bonnie feature here. Relax in our comfortable, warm and cosy, yet spacious saloon — whether for a meal or a cuppa.

Our comfortable saloon is where we gather for meals and socialising.

Yes, this really could be your next Scottish adventure!

With us, Scotland’s your oyster (that’s the original phrase, right?). Choose the season and port location that suits you, with our boat departing from Mallaig from April to mid-May, Stornoway from mid-May to mid-August, and then back to Mallaig from mid-August until early October. We also have one or two sailings in the summer from Ullapool as well, often one way to Stornoway so you can enjoy a ferry ride back as well.

MV Monadhliath voyages often visit the wonderful Shiant Isles where you can go ashore.

Private Charter

Available for private hire too, we accommodate group sizes of up to eight and are more than happy to chat through specific requests. We are the perfect size for a family bubble looking for their own getaway, or maybe a group of blue members looking for a specific type of holiday. We can also cater to film crews needing to access the islands or remote areas, as well as researchers checking on seabird colonies or other marine or remote island habitats.
