Risso's Dolphins - the horse of the sea?

An adult Risso's dolphin displaying its white scarring
We have been having regular sightings of Risso's dolphins recently. They are very obvious thanks to their white scarring on the adults which is caused through interactions with each other, but also from battles with one of their favourite foods - squid! They have several other names such as grampus and grey grampus which gave rise to yet another short name of "gee gee's" so you could almost call them the horses of the sea! :-)
