Skye & Western Highlands
Starting from Mallaig in the Western Highlands, cruise with us around the enigmatic Isle of Skye and the stunning west coast of the Scottish Highlands, enjoying the magnificent scenery and looking for some of Britain's best wildlife. We will take some shore trips too so you can stretch your legs.
Taking full advantage of this beautiful corner of Scotland, we will start your journey with our own mini "Skyefari"! First we will get on the Mallaig to Armadale ferry, arrive on Skye and be met by our own 4x4 vehicle and taken to Kylerhea, then over the turntable ferry to Glenelg, walk down to Sandaig Bay (Ring of Bright Water location) and meet the boat to board by dinghy. Then you will travel aboard MV Monadhliath to view and visit some wonderful locations including others featured in Gavin Maxwell's famous Ring of Bright Water book, the romantic Eilean Donan castle, and gaze upon the Cuillins of Skye whilst watching out for some fantastic wildlife along the way. This hopefully will include golden and white-tailed eagles and we will be visiting an otter hide too! Our 4x4 will be on hand to pick us up on shore and whisk us off on adventures around the island before returning for a satisfying meal and a good nights sleep on board the boat. If you travel with us on our October cruise, then you can also look forward to the hills echoing to the bellows of roaring red deer stags during their rutting season.
**Please note that whilst we try to make these trips accessible to everyone, the boat is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues due to the compact spaces and steep stairs descending to the cabins.
**Under 14s must be accompanied by a responsible adult on our overnight expeditions.
